Rental Registration

As part of our ongoing efforts to maintain the quality and character of the Village of Pittsford, the Board of Trustees has recently adopted new regulations regarding rental properties within the Village.

Effective January 1^st 2025, short-term and long-term rental properties in the Village of Pittsford must now be registered through the Village’s rental property registration program. This requirement applies to any property rented for less than 30 days (short-term rentals or STRs) and those rented for longer durations (long-term rentals or LTRs).

The simple registration process ensures all rental properties meet basic safety and zoning requirements. Key details of the registration process include:

Who Must Register: Any property owner who rents or plans to rent a property for short-term or long-term occupancy.
Registration Application: The registration application can be found on the Village of Pittsford website or in person at the Village Hall. It must be completed and submitted no later than [insert deadline for registration].
Yearly Fee: A registration fee will be required upon application submission and annually thereafter. The fee schedule is outlined on the application form.
Inspections: As part of the registration, properties will be subject to safety and compliance inspections to ensure they meet local building and zoning codes.
