NOTICE: Erie Canalway Trail Maintenance – Pittsford to Macedon
When:The NYS Canal Corporation will be conducting maintenance work along the Erie Canalway Trail between Pittsford and Macedon to remove low-hanging branches from the overhead tree canopy and overgrowth that has accelerated due to the recent wet weather. This general maintenance work aims to improve accessibility and safety along the trail.
Work is expected to be completed over 4-6 weeks starting on Monday, July 24, 2023.
Trail users may notice workers wearing hard hats and high-visibility vests operating construction equipment. Some short-term closures (15-30 minutes) of the trail are expected. Users should exercise caution near the identified work zones.
PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS ROUTINE WORK IS NOT A PART OF THE EARTHEN EMBANKMENT INTEGRITY PROGRAM.
