The Village of Pittsford has a rich history of civic engagement, supported by a strong partnership with the Town of Pittsford. Together, they have spearheaded several sustainability initiatives that invite residents and businesses to take an active role in environmental stewardship.  By participating in these programs, residents and businesses can contribute to a more sustainable Pittsford, fostering a healthier environment for future generations. Here are some ways to get involved:

1. Join the Clean Energy Community Task Force
The Village promotes clean energy solutions and reduces GHG emissions through the Climate Smart Community Task Force. Residents and business owners can express interest in joining the task force to:
  • Participate in planning sessions focused on renewable energy and energy efficiency projects.

  • Help implement community-wide campaigns that promote sustainability.

  • Provide input on local policies that support the adoption of clean technologies.

2. Participate in Arbor Day Events In partnership with the Town of Pittsford, the Village hosts annual Arbor Day events to promote tree planting and environmental education. These events:
  • Offer hands-on opportunities to plant trees in public spaces.

  • Educate participants about the benefits of urban forestry for air quality and climate resilience.

  • Strengthen community ties through collaborative environmental efforts.
