Where can I dispose of household hazardous waste, electronic wast, propane tanks, etc.?
Monroe County has opened Ecopark which provides residents with a facility to bring and dispose of household hazardous as well as electronice waste, propane tanks, etc. There are regular collections (no fee) on Wednesdays 1:00 PM - 6:30 PM and Saturdays 7:30 AM - 1:00 PM. Please go to

Can the Village DPW pick up items such as appliances, couches, and other household items?
No, these items need to be picked up by your private waste hauler.
How big of a tree stump can I put on the curb?
Tree stumps are not picked up by the Village of Pittsford. The Town of Pittsford, where the Village brings our brush and leaves to, prohibits us from dumping tree stumps, according to their regulations.
What are hazardous waste materials?

Where can I get free mulch?
The Town of Pittsford Highway Department (585-248-66270) provides free mulch. It is available at the Little League Fields on East Street.
